Ariana's album disappointed me am not buying til it's discounted. It was suppose to be the 2nd best album this year (behind Mimi ofcourse). It's so ugh.
There's no point in lowering prices, making new formats, or lowering certifications. Streaming is taking over, it's a digital world, this is inevitable.
DVD sales will decline soon, too. Netflix and such will take over, I also think Video Game sales will decline too. PS4 or w/e, I believe launched some sort of Streaming type thing where you get catalogs of games for a subscription.
Things are changing. I actually like it, Streaming profit has already surpassed Digital profit and will do so even more in the future.
Video game sales will never decline.
If they do, then that entire industry is screwed considering PS4s/XBox are already sold at a loss.
Did Lana's album come out this year?
If so, then poor girl. The decline from BTD is real.
Lana will end up selling about 3/5 of what Born to Die would have done without the re-release. For such a drastic change in sound and the downsized promotion, it's not that bad. Much better post breakout era retainment than Alanis.
I would love to see Rihanna put out an album of tracks based on acoustic guitar and West African rhythms. A cross between Graceland and Beck's Sea Change that's a bit more pop friendly. Something that really showcases her voice with ethereal harmonies that isn't nearly as commercial as her last ones. She could collaborate with a really good, established songwriter for almost every track for cohesiveness.
