Nintendo has announced Super Smash Bros. on 3DS enjoyed over 1 million sales in its opening Japanese weekend. The figure, which combines both retail and download numbers for the brawler, paint a positive picture for the company ahead of the Wii U release of the title later this year. Nintendo also noted that 1 million physical copies of the game have been shipped to retail stores.

I can't wait for the Wii U version, I'm tempted to buy the 3DS version in the meantime but I don't have the cash. Roll on Christmas.
