The big blocks worked fine with 8's start menu, not so sure about this one though

And yes they need to bring Aero back. Even though Windows 8's theme is simple and cute, Aero is still slightly nicer

They're so misguided with their design

it just looks awful. The layout of 9 is an improvement but the colors are awkward and they're doing "flat" in the wrong way. Windows 7 still looks so much better than this.

Don't fret Emily. It's already been confirmed that the Final UI will be different, and will be a LOT better than this one.

What you're seeing is the pre-pre-pre... release version of the preview.

I'm loving the changes by the way, I love the functionality now. I'm gonna stan so hard for Windows 9, like I did back in the transition from Vista to 7.

Congratulations on your success with iPhone 6.

I'm still #1 Windows fanboy, however. But I'm having second thoughts about Android because I'm in a Android App Development course, and I already see the $$$ potential.

Tbh, I don't really care about UI, for me more important are the speed and reliability of the OS, and that's where Win 8.1 comes thru. I'm glad the're bringing Old Start back, it's just more functional.

And all of you who were reverting back from 8 just because of Aero and Metro.

I have Aero turned on right now, and haven't seen Metro tiles in months. You'd be surprised what customization can done.

W8 is more efficient and takes less power to operate.

It's much better than W7 on the back end, and if you're on a tablet, on the front end too.

They better be offering this for like $20 because it's seriously not worth the same $150 I bought Windows 8 with.
Windows 8 isn't even worth $150.

When MacOS offer an OS for $20 and now free, Microsoft really need to think about lowering the price.
