You are so lucky that Madonna is correctly not as relevant as 15 years ago. I mean, if only defending your own work, makes you a egocentric, i wonder what Madonna would be called during her bright time, if there was social media back then...

The problem with Gaga is that she is always looking for acceptance from everyone and as an artist this could lead to the destruction of your career. She seems like one of those people who don't learn from their mistakes and she makes it all about the success of her records, she is desperately trying to prove that Artpop wasn't a failure or a step in the wrong way. I am not seeing her coming back and slaying with her future records if she keeps this attitude.

The media can't make numbers appear or disappear. If the album had been successful nothing the media could say would make it seem otherwise.

She's not comparing it to any other album or anything she's just saying its a shame the media made it out to seem like a failure and it's not. It wasn't the most successful album but it wasn't a failure either in the slightest. But she got attacked left and right this era, every time someone said anything that was praising her she got 10X more people criticizing her. I'm glad she is proud of this album and everything that's come with it even though there was difficult times.
