Your an absolute IDIOT. While you make some good points about Aguilera, you basically are calling Britney second rate, which is a total and COMPLETE laugh you moron.
QUOTE 1: At the "legendary" performers, you IDIOT Britney has performed with Madonna quite a few times, the QUEEN of pop, Michael Jackson the KING of pop, and Aerosmith. So to say that Christina has performed with these legends and ignoring Britney's performances with some is a COMPLETE bias' to Aguilera, though your trying to be "neutral" I believe Madonna isn't even a FAN of Aguilera after she tried playing the name game due to NO attention from that VMA performace.
QUOTE 2: Britney has ALWAYS been famous, even BEFORE her antics. She has always sold the most records, she has always had the most SOLD OUT shows. I believe Christina's AND Justin's tour TOGETHER was not filling up many arenas as numerous reports show. Britney has been the most searched person online for 7 out of 8 years. I believe she ONLY got crazy 2 years ago, so your saying people were bored of her 6 years before that? Your lacking of facts is disgusting.
QUOTE 3: I give you applause for that, but artists always "co-write" songs, we never know how much they REALLY write on them. Yes, Aguilera does have exceptionally well lyrics, but I believe that Britney has done her share of co-writing as well, doesn't mean she wrote every lyric, but to not MENTION that is pretty ludacris and bias, though your trying to make a point that your not.
QUOTE 4: Let's see out of Britney's ENTIRE career, she has had ONE bad performance, GIMME A BREAK!!!! She was hitting a rough patch, and should not have gone on, but for the sake of everything she DID. That was the ONLY atrocious performance she committed, unlike Aguilera's numerous performance, and you want to talk about the VMA's and lipsynching, I believe AGUILERA lipsynched her ENTIRE performance this year Britney has performed live a few times, but people are there to watch her ENTERTAIN, Aguilera supposedly HAS THE VOICE, Why does she need to lip then.
QUOTE 5: Christina only made that excuse because when she realized the huge resemblance she didnt want to be known as a 'copycat' hence the SUDDEN change of hairstyle and wardrobe choices ESPECIALLY at the AMA's when she went back to her 'B2B' look. Pathetic much? and I HIGHLY doubt Britney wanted to STEAL Aguilera's "theme". Obviously Britney knows she is the better of the two, sales wise, so I don't think she wanted to steal Aguilera's gimmick. and PLEASE Aguilera was NOT going circus themed except in ONE of her videos. The album cover and booklet was more like 50s 60s pinup and stuff.
ALL in ALL, I respect Aguilera and Spears, but if your going to make a NEUTRAL argument for the both, I suggest you show BOTH sides of the argument, and stop making yourself look like a fool!!!!!!

Quote 1: I should have specified in my post that I only am considering the two singer's careers since Back to Basics was released because that's around the time I started to really pay attention to pop music. I was not aware that Briney performed with MJ and Aerosmith, and I don't count the Madonna performance since Aguilera also was in the performance. I was wrong for not checking all the facts in that point.
Quote 2: Again, I'm not denying that she is important. As I said above, I'm only speaking about what has happened since roughly around 2006, and at that time both of them were losing relevance as the public moved on to other newer artists. I should have clarified the time period in my original post. Not specifying that was my mistake. Also, I said many times in my post that I was evaluating their music on artistic terms. Britney is a great live performer and entertainer, but their is a difference between an entertainer and an artist. Her sold out shows and record sales reflect her success as an entertainer, but as any music fan can tell you, popularity is not indicative of artistry.
Quote 3: My objective with that point was to prove that Christina takes more control artistically over her MUSICAL projects. Yes, Britney has had control over aspects of her image (videos/tours etc.), but I said throughout the post that I was speaking about their control over the actual music. I feel that Christina has proved that she can independently oversee the execution of an album from start to finish. With Back To Basics, she had a vision of an album, sought out producers, convinced to label to do a double album, and selected the first single. As executive producer, she assumed responsibility for the project and her hard work earned her credibility as an artist when B2B was nominated for a Grammy for best Pop album. Britney may have written a few songs, but she still has not proven that she can act independently without a team of people. Britney executive produced Blackout, and did not recieve any Grammy nominations for her album.
Quote 4: Once again, I am not evaluating the two based on entertainment value. I am speaking about musical artistry. Britney hardly ever sings live. Christina is very capable of singing live. I was upset that Christina didn't sing live at the VMAs. I expect better from her and don't understand why she didn't lip-synched the performance. However, I know she is capable of singing live in a variety of situations, and Britney has not proven herself in that respect. Singing live is widely regarded as a mark of artistic integrity by music critics.
Quote 5: Christina publicly stated that she didn't know about Lady Gaga when formulating her appearance, although she did say that she saw a resemblance. She changed her appearance to quiet people like you who don't give her the benefit of the doubt. Also, if you look at her outfits from other events this era, such as her appearance before the VMAs and her appearance in London before the VMAs (she performed at some awards show that I don't remember the name of) you will see that her outfits draw more inspiration from Warhol than Gaga. Also, I am not insinuating that Britney copied Christina. I don't know Britney, so I don't know what she was thinking when she decided on the Circus theme. I'm simply saying that there is a double standard because just as people accuse Christina of copying Gaga, Britney could be accused of copying Christina.
Finally, I realize that my post may seem biased because I'm defending Christina. I don't hold any personal preference between the two artists, but I am pointing out that some Britney fans have a double standard when talking about Christina. I'm not biased towards the two singers or their music, but I am biased against hypocrital people. Also, I'd really appriciate it if you wouldn't attack my personal intelligence. Yes, my argument had flaws and you did a good job at pointing them out. Just because I didn't have the strongest argument in this instance does not mean that I am a stupid person. I may not always agree with you or understand you, but I'm not going to slander your intelligence. Please don't slander mine.

If you don't like it, don't read it. I like to thoroughly explore my ideas in writing. I take the "novel"/"essay" comments as a compliment.

They weren't out at the same time lol.
2003 - ITZ
2002 - Stripped
2006 - b2b
2007 - Blackout
You can't compare any album which has over a year head start of sales. It's ridiculous.

at the newbie, i didn't even BOTHER reading his long ass response to my opinion/true statements he's a joke.
As the numbers CLEARLY show today, Britney will REMAIN and permanately BE the #1 young female pop artist compared to Christina.
because there is no way in HELL if the heavy promotion she did for B2B only landed her in the 300,000 her first week, well she HIT a number like 500,000 even if she went on EVERY talk show imaginable. She doesn't have that personality or love that most Britney fans do, willing to SPEND money to buy the CD even though they illegally downloaded. So to all you Aguilera fans that LAUGHED at Britney last year... well, at you, because you all completely FAILED.
