Do you still have the demo installed? If so you need to upload them to the gallery and then download them into the full game. You could try moving the tray folder over but that froze a lot of people's games.

I think what I'm going to do is make a new Origin account and test that out online for a week and see how it goes, because I'd rather not get my normal account banned or something. Thanks for the tip, I'll upload to the gallery and see how it works out.

Just get the base game, paste update 1 and 2 and crack version 5, go to Origin, click "Go Offline," go to Application settings and then to "Origin in Game" and un-tick "Enable Origin in game." Double click the The.Sims.4.Launcher application, let the load game, and go to Menu, Game Options and then continue to Others (I think, I don't remember it 100%) and tick Online or something similar.

For comparison: The Sims 3 sold 1.4 million in a week. Of course, TS4 is also sold via Origin aswell which will also mean for sales that aren't taken into account compared to TS3's launch.

So far I think it's fair to assume that this game has had a successful launch. I still don't see it surpassing TS3 or TS2 in lifetime sales, though.

The Sims 2 is the only right answer. The Sims 3 base game sucks unless you have any Generations, Late Night, Seasons or IP EP's.
