You understand why that "third meaning" came into existence, yes ...? Or are you really that clueless?
It's the same thing as "retarded" becoming people's go-to word for something stupid or bad, because someone viewed "retarded" people as inferior humans.
And guess what? People with disabilities (and their families) would really appreciate that you NOT use the word "retarded" with a negative connotation, and LGBT people would prefer that you not use "gay" with a negative connotation. It takes minimal effort to have some standard of ****ing RESPECT.

What does that matter?
You are literally interchanging a word that people associate with themselves as "stupid" or "bad". The word gay represents a huge group of people, you're basically referring to them as stupid or whatever your "insult" implies.
It is universally accepted as being inappropriate, you act like everyone should put aside their feelings so you can use an immature term because you don't understand how it's offensive...

human = slur, slur = stupid, worthless, whatever.
so logically: human = slur = stupid, worthless, etc. no matter how you twist it, it's wrong and you shouldn't use that word to describe these things.

Obviously you didn't read my post
If in a 100% disconnected situation from anything homosexual it has obviously 0 correlation with homosexual offense Like it makes no sense to assume that...

Yes. I also understand the origin of words like "clue" and "the" and "lamp"
Origins =/= meanings.
Or else we'd all still be speaking Sumerian

you just called yourself out.
when you call a song or tv show or anything 'gay' (stupid) you obviously aren't describing a person as gay, nor are you saying they're joyful. Whether it's habitual or not, it's the 1 of 2 uses that are homophobic (your own words)
Literally no one uses 'gay' as 'joyful' except people like you trying to make a point.

Why are you being so ignorant? The synonym for "crappy" or "stupid" is rooted in actual homophobia, which is why it's used.
How about, you don't use it. Can't believe you're actually blaming people who still have a weighted reaction to that word being used in that context. The whole, "it's not my fault you're offended" can be stretched all the way to actual homophobia, racism, and general prejudice.

I'm just saying that telling a straight person "YOU DON"T GET TO DECIDE WHAT IS HOMOPHOBIC OR NOT" is not going to make them more accepting of us. Like what does it accomplish? If you guys really wanted change and acceptance you'd drop these SJW antics. If we can't be accepting and understanding of the prejudices straight people have how can we possibly expect them to do the same for us?

you act as if words don't have different definitions and can be used in different connotations
Ever see a dictionary with "set" in it?

You're the one that doesn't understand where the word "gay" was derived...

Stop trying to defend the use of the word Gay for this. It isn't a normal insult, it's immaturity and lack of understanding of where it comes from. You don't see anyone calling anything N**ger or c*nt when when something's stupid.

When you say that's so gay in place of that's so stupid then people are going to associate the word gay with something negative. And when the word gay is still used to describe people, that is very problematic.

Yes I do. But origins don't equal the present meaning. The word gay as far as I know has at least three definitions. I would never use the actual offensive one in that manner

Context means absolutely NOTHING when you use a word that's used as a slur.
You're still using a word that describes ME and my COMMUNITY as a word to describe something horrible. Stop making excuses and accept that it's wrong.
You would never say "that shirt is so african-american" when describing the likeness of the shirt to something horrible... unless you're a dumb racist. So you shouldn't say "that shirt is so gay" either.

THIS RIGHT HERE is a logical argument
The association of the word with negative connotations is the singular argument against the usage of it.
