Celeb News: I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot in the works

Sony Pictures is rebooting I Know What You Did Last Summer, the 1997 horror flick that ended up grossing $125M worldwide and spawned a sequel the following year. Both starred Jennifer Love Hewitt. This one is being written and produced by Oculus c0-writer/director Mike Flanagan adapting the 1973 Lois Duncan book again and producing along with Neal Moritz who produced the original. Flanagan’s partner Jeff Howard (who helped to adapt Oculus) will also produce. If the budget is kept tight for the revamp of the popular 17-year-old horror movie about friends being stalked by a killer after conspiring to cover up a fatal car accident, it could be a very profitable venture for the studio.

Yes, it's my favorite scene aswell. I remember only watching the movie because "Buffy" was in it.

As to the remake, I'm here for it. It was a good movie, and I've been wanting some new slasher flicks in theaters.

I would like to see a modern take on the Sarah Michelle Geller chase scene, I would be here for this even though I probably wouldn't like it as much as the original. By the way, to everyone complaining - the original will still be there. The remakes aren't forced on you. just don't watch them.

The original also isn't considered technically 'good' so it's not like critics will slam it for ruining the series.
