I watched Young and the Restless to see Shemar Moore's comeback last week and he said it. The power of gay black queens.
It was also used in an episode of Pretty Little Liars recently. What's funny though is that an episode of RHOA was titled "Throwing Shade" back in like 2009. Probably one of it's first mainstream moments. Black gays stay ahead of the trends.
Black gay forums have been saying throwing shade since like 2006, and it was popular in other gay places before that. I'm starting to hear "Girl Boo," just when I thought that died down.
I cringe whenever I hear people using the term "throwing shade" in real life or on white twitter. They just can't use the term in the correct context it's embarrassing
