reminder that he is a professional manipulator (marketing/CEO) so clearly he knows how to maintain his image unlike Akon

I doubt either are exclusively to blame, but I'm inclined to believe Gaga here.
She may lie/exaggerate, but you can tell this hurt/anger at Troy is coming from a real place. She doesn't really have much to gain/lose by being honest...meanwhile, Troy needs to save face. He won't want to encourage rumours or get messy with Gaga because that'd put others off from employing him. He's being professional.
Plus, you never know what legal censors are at play.

Neither. they're just reacting in different ways. Troy saw their relationship as a business decision while Gaga saw it as a friendship. Troy's very nonchalant about the whole thing and it proves he never had any emotions invested, which is a good thing when you're a business person. Neither are wrong in the way they've reacted because they both got what they wanted in the end.
They simply outgrew each other.

Yeah, he's not mentioning the shady deals he signed Gaga to and the products he put her name on in order to make a quick buck for himself. He's also not mentioning how he ditched Gaga and the rest of the team the moment ARTPOP didn't perform the way he wanted, which left Gaga and her team to scurry about.
At the same time, however, he's a business person and business people tend to move on from things when they're no longer bringing in enough money.

But Troy didn't ditch Gaga
The situation was that Troy didn't like the album, he wanted smashes, Gaga is stubborn and Troy probably decided not to promote the album like they did with Gaga's previous albums.. Then Gaga decided to fire him. It was probably a long process she's probably been trying to ditch him since the release of Applause, but it happened as late as 1 week before the release of the album..
He didn't ditch her. He was quiet surprised and sad she fired him ..

I always liked him, he always seemed genuine. And it is just that, they have different intentions. He is a business man, his main goal is to make money, Gaga was tired of that pressure, that idea of everything being about money and for that to be the end goal for them, she has always been the artist, and she believes that she'll be able to make her best work without the intention of it making her money, shes got all the money she'll ever need. and just watching her HSN special, it seems Tony taught her a lot about this. He said something very smart, about him never just trying to make a hit, he was taught to always make and sing something that is intelligent, because that is what the audience truly deserves. And I agree, I've stuck around with Gaga, even through everybody dragging ARTPOP, which was still a huge success for today's standards. And even if I sometimes think maybe it would be easier for her to just make a radio-friendly hit, that everybody will like so the general public fall in love with her again, that isn't really why I chose to love her out of every single pop star, it was because I love her passion, her drive is inspiring, and I simply love her. And believe she is what we all should strive to be, in terms of being a good person etc. Regardless, they created some brilliant work together, and they're going to do the same apart, I mean John Legend had his first really huge hit with Troy Carter on his team, and Gaga is doing Cheek To Cheek which will only further her iconic status, which was one of Vincent Herbert's goals all along, she'll always make pop music, but it'll always push the limits, and that's why we love Gaga.

No. Troy liked the album and he supported the album. What he wanted was money. He wanted Gaga to put her name on things and endorse companies she didn't agree with/didn't have the same values as her. When she said no, he went through and did it anyways. He then ended up disappearing in the middle of the era after the single was changed to DWUW, which was his fault because of the deal he struck with BEATS and the song, and failed to provide Gaga and her manager-less team any help or support. Why he left, I don't know, but it wasn't because he was fired. He was on set with Gaga and her team when they filmed the DWUW video and that's when things fell apart. He was not doing his job as a manager and that is why Gaga decided to fire him. Bobby was the one who stood up and took over while he was gone, which is why she then promoted him to manager.
He was surprised because he obviously didn't even know what Gaga wanted. He was doing things he didn't think she had a problem with because he wasn't even bothering to ask her about it all. Had he been around Gaga like he should have been during the era, he would have known how she felt.

This is a great post. They simply outgrew one another and began seeing things differently. When that happens, it's best to move on.
And also, people need to stop trying to credit Troy for Gaga's success. He played a part in it, but so did Gaga. If it was all Troy, then he'd have several Gaga-type successes on his roster, and he doesn't.

I'd like to also add, he probably didn't believe in ARTPOP, and she wasn't having it. He probably wasn't here for her crazy Venus-ness, he knew her doing this artsy stuff was going to drive her away from the general public, and she knew that as well, which is why I find it funny when people try to undermind her and say she wasn't prepared for ARTPOP to flop, because she obviously had people around her whilst making ARTPOP saying, you need to create something different so we can have a huge smash record or this or that, which is why people were fired. But that's what she wanted to do, and that's not what he was about, he was about the money where as she was about the music, and the art. Hence music not the bling.

She's still a pop star, and she knows what it is and takes to be a pop star, so I hope she doesn't loose sight completely of what Troy would've taught her and Bobby along the way. It was something do with promotion of the album as well though, because she always tweets back at fans on twitter about how Cheek To Cheek seems to be more promoted than ARTPOP or how Gaga cares more about Cheek To Cheek than she ever did with ARTPOP, but her response is always similar, she says things are always going to be like this now, with new management etc, those things are the past, and now we're moving forward. So he obviously didn't believe in ARTPOP as much as she did. Maybe even to the point where he thought she needed to make a controversial video with DWUW being chosen as the 2nd single, so they could possibly turn things around in his head, but how the hell could Gaga go from having this huge gimmicky video, that we have come to know from pop stars, to then have major respect from people like Tony Bennett, and all the fan lovers that have come on board for Cheek To Cheek, it just wouldn't have been right for her career, it wouldn't have been an intelligent move and it seems that from now she wants to take the time and craft her best work. Which is why she always says she didn't have enough time to create the concept of the DWUW video and same with Applause. She may do that in the future the whole gimmicky thing, to stir up controversy, she is rockstar deep down, and legends do it all the time but it just wasn't the right timing. We really don't know the full story, it's just speculation, maybe one day we can fully understand why they parted ways.

Was Troy the one who wanted ARTPOP to be an EP or was that the label?

Why would Troy Carter need to "save face" though? As long as he has clients...the public could give two ***** about him and Lady Gaga not getting along. He's as good as his next hit client...and so far this year..
Meghan Trainor
Niko & Vinz
John Legend
Alex & Sierra (arguably)
Sky Ferreira (arguably)
...have all been winning.
That's the advantage he has being a business man. Lady Gaga on the other hand, is the one that needs to maintain public perception. A little bit more is riding on her "saving face". IMO.

He seems like a nice guy that has been unfairly badmouthed. And looks like things have only gotten better for him after the split.
