Because some stans only care about success and nothing else. They would rather flaunt that their fave has won tons of awards so that they feel validated in stanning for them. Take that away and there's not much left to brag about. Awards are nice to have, but in the end they don't really mean as much as people think. Art is completely subjective, so what one group of old white men might think is deserving of an award, may not be for another group.
Regardless of whether award shows are real or fake: there's so much more to music than sales and awards numbers. If that's all you care about, then you might as well be stanning for the artist's record label/management/marketing team instead tbh.
