I'm actually glad MTV stifled this performance, because I feel like Gaga's original idea would've way too overboard. This is considered her most iconic performance for a reason.
However, I will never forgive them for flatout denying her original Applause concept.

I can't remember the on-stage concept. But she wanted to walk the red carpet with different "Lady Gaga"s from different eras, but that was turned down as well.
