On that note, thank you, seriously, for putting "Bleeding Love" on there. I'm not a total Leona hater, "Better in Time" isn't too bad, but "Bleeding Love" has become insufferable, to me. Same with "Take a Bow". On the other hand, I'll be the first to admit that I kind of like "Hot N Cold", but I totally understand why people may not like it.

BEST SUMMER ANTHEMS OF 2008
If you know me enough, you know summer is my favorite time of the year because the weather gets amazing, there's no school to attend, you have plenty of time to do things you enjoy, and most importantly, a whole bunch of amazing music gets released! You know how every summer there are a lot of optimistic party/beach songs which I like to call summer anthems and this year was no exception. These were my 5 favorites, the ones that, years from now, I will listen to and I will reminisce about the amazing summer of 2008 (because, yes, despite everything it was an amazing summer). Here they are:

05. Plies ft Ne-Yo - Bust it Baby (Part 2)

The summer video and the massive amounts of airplay it got in my music player the whole summer make it one of the best summer anthems for me this year!

04. Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful of Sunshine

A feel good optimistic song! Great to listen to while riding in the car with your friends and with the summer breeze on your face. Also great to listen to while working, knowing you're gonna get out in a few hours and the weather will be amazing and you're gonna hang out with your summer love!

03. Michelle Williams - We Break The Dawn

One word to describe this song: CLUBBING!!! It's such a great anthem for people who'd rather miss a doctor's appointment than missing the club on a friday night, and specially for those (like me) who love clubbing until morning comes! Summer is usually when people go clubbing the most, and this song did come out during the summer, so, summer anthem!

02. Thalia - Ten Paciencia

I've never been too big on Thalia but god! this is one of those songs that make you think of a beach party when you hear it. Seriously just listen to the music and tell me if you don't picture yourself at a beach in the summer heat with a lot of people, dancing and sipping on a piña colada. Genius!

01. Kumbia All Starz ft Melissa Jimenez - Rica y Apretadita

Ahh the greatness. This masterpiece is a cover of a song that came out in like 1992, but they truly managed to reinvent it. The music has such a summery feel to it and it just makes you want to get up and dance. It's sooooo great when they play it in the club, the whole crowd goes wild!
With very simple lyrics, an extremely summery beat, and an overall optimistic positive feel to it, this is THE summer song of 2008!
