That's just something stupid people on ATRL like to say but it actually doesn't make much sense. It's the fat kid on the playground changing the game's rules because he's losing. Before people say **** like this, they should think: would I have the guts to say this to a music executive, would that person think I'm intelligent afterwards?
Especially being that NMT hit #23 on the Hot 100 and that was her 3rd latest (solo) single. Like do we call Beyonce a flop because all her single SOLO efforts except Partition didn't perform as well as Not Myself Tonight (XO, Pretty Hurts, Flawless, Run the World, Party)? Do we say Madonna was a flop solo singles artist because she didn't have one for years? Her last solo single that charted higher than NMT was in 2005. No, we don't, because it's just stupid. This is weak shade that idiots keep repeating.
Christina has only had 4 solo singles released since 2008 - that's the real number you should be looking at - and two of them charted respectfully high (#7 and #23). Other bitches pump out way more music than her. And again, she had so much solo success when she started out that the argument is just invalid, there's no time limit to appreciating someone's success. You could say she was a flop features artist before, it means nothing.
No. Your logic doesn't make sense. NMT didn't perform well. NMT hit #23 but it is still a flop. Just because NMT hit top 30, it doesn't mean it's a hit. Bey singles didn't chart higher than NMT because Charts today is very different from the time of Not myself tonight.

Not really tho? Charts are certainly different for ALBUM sales. But the Hot 100/singles charts formula has consistently been changed to keep up with trends. The Hot 100 10 years ago didn't factor any music video views of streaming (since it didn't exist) but now it does...
Genie In A Bottle, Beautiful, Hurt, Moves Like Jagger, Say Something, Lady Marmalade are all TIMELESS CLASSICS. I'd rather stan for an artist that releases music that will be remembered for decades and decades to come rather than artists that smash with 8767556 songs with only one of these gazillion songs being remembered and the rest all completely forgotten.

Now, you are just making up excuses. If you have nothing worthwhile to contribute to the thread, then leave. Save it for someone who cares.
I'm not surprised her biggest Digital sellers are her collaborations, Christina's sales bulk is pre-digital era, and her numbers were monstruous.
Numbers and sales are kind of irrelevant nowadays considering everything either sales less than 50k or has to be Payola'd endlessly to get that hit, This is how the business do
