Whether they're recovering from their quarter-life crises or still getting carded at the bar, these precocious celebs won’t be worrying about their retirement funds anytime soon.
Collectively, these 20 upstarts brought in $435.5 million between June 2007 and June 2008--though non-'tween actors made a somewhat paltry showing in the top 10. The list belongs to the entertainers and athletes, who ed the market with heavy branding and juicy endorsement deals.
With 10 Grammys, three solo albums, four movies and a pret-a-porter line under her belt, it's no surprise Beyonce Knowles blows away the rest of the list, raking in $80 million--almost double the $44 million runner-up Justin Timberlake pulled in this fiscal year. The former Destiny's Child lead released her latest album I am Sasha Fierce Nov. 19, which sold nearly half a million copies in its first week.
Next up for the Golden Globe nominee? Set for release in December, Cadillac Records features Knowles opposite Adrien Brody as famed soulstress Etta James. Her thriller debut, Obsessed, hits theaters January 2009. The platinum-piped diva plans a worldwide tour next year as well.

No one has to make the case for Knowles' dazzling looks: the camera obviously loves her, and why shouldn't it? Or for her voice, which is consistently amazing. Or, for that matter, for her behind-the-scenes instincts in this particular case, because she also served as the film's executive producer.
But in her four previous outings as an actress, she's shown little in the way of instinct or skill when she wasn't actually singing. In this role, on the other hand, she seems to have turned a c.orner. Not only does she deliver three knockout singing solos (one of which, "At Last," is the film's soaring highlight), but she is impressive throughout in her dramatic scenes as the troubled and vulnerable James. You get the feeling that this role spoke to her and she went after it so that she could speak to us. Which she does, in style.
-------------------------------------------
Jeffrey Wright convinces as Muddy Waters and Mos Def dazzles as rock-'n'-roller Chuck Berry, but it's Beyonce who upstages everyone as singer Etta James. Beyonce served as executive producer, so it's no wonder she gets to sing three show-stopping numbers. Fortunately, she has the pipes and the soulful presence to deliver on all three.
And Knowles does her best screen acting to date here, slinking into the movie with a sidelong glance and a "Don't be lookin' at me like I ain't wearin' no drawers." Her Etta acts perpetually disinterested, to avoid disappointment; she even sings "At Last" while looking breezily around the room.
Earning the respect she started to win with Dreamgirls, Knowles comes into her own as an actress playing James as an impossibly needy, extravagantly gifted, nearly always over-the-edge artist.
Knowles, in particular, gives one of the finest performances I've seen all year. Her Etta James is manipulative and breakable, unapologetically sexy but also deeply guarded -- embodying the very contradictions that play themselves out in James' music...
..What's more, Knowles' ardent, shivery version of "I'd Rather Go Blind" doesn't attempt to top James' original (as if anyone could). Instead, it's a reinterpretation that adds yet another layer -- a stratus made up of myth and all-too-real hardship -- to an already rich and conflicted story. "Cadillac Records" doesn't set the story straight. Instead, it simply gets it right, half-truths, exaggerations and all.
His slot gets filled by Etta James, a torch rocker and junkie played by Beyonc Knowles, who just about burns a hole in the screen with her sultry torment. As a woman who rocked the house but could get no satisfaction, Beyonc does a Lady Sings the Blues in miniature. Now will someone give this lady a great lead role?
------------------------------------------
And so, it should be said, is Ms. Knowless performance. In her previous film roles she has seemed guarded and tentative, as if worried that her charisma would melt from too much emotional heat. Here, playing a needy, angry, ferociously talented and fantastically undisciplined woman, she is as volcanic and voluptuous as an Italian movie star. Or, more to the point, a real soul diva of the old school.
Beyonce Knowles could have nabbed an Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress. That's how good she is playing it all sexy, sassy and druggy as Etta James, the R&B singer who found the soul in songs like "At Last." Too bad for Knowles that she's only part of Darnell Martin's rushed mess of a movie that jams the story of Chicago-based Chess Records into one incoherent package. Adrien Brody plays Leonard Chess, who started the company in the 1950s with his brother Phil (we hardly see him) to record great blues artists and pay them with Caddys. There's Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, Eamonn Walker's as Howlin' Wolf, and a lively Mos Def as Chuck Berry. It's all a blur, except for the music. That's workin'.
Particularly good is Beyonce Knowles as Etta James, the baby-faced addict filled to bursting with fragile vulnerability and explosive talent. She's so good, in fact, you want the whole movie to be about her, her love for the label owner, and her battles with heroin; it's her chance, a real "Lady Sings the Rhythm and Blues" part, and you want more.
There are a FEW more but I'm lazy to copy and paste now. I'm so SURPRISED at all the awesome reviews about my girl Bee here!!!! I'm still haven't find the bootleg version of the movie tho! I need it NOW!!!! my theater don't aired this ****, probably mid next year. ****** ass country!
Adrien Brody's Beyonce sadness
Monday, 8 December 2008
Adrien Brody was sad when Beyonce sang to him.
The actor stars alongside the singer in 'Cadillac Records' and says he enjoyed working with her so much, he was overwhelmed when they did their final scenes together.
He said: "Beyonce was remarkable and very emotionally open. We went through some tough stuff. There's one scene where she sings 'At Last' directly to me. It was a strange moment that made me sad because it was her last day of filming.
"I kept thinking, 'When will I ever have Beyonce sing to me like this again?' "
In the movie, Beyonce stars as legendary troubled singer Etta James, while Adrien plays record boss Leonard Chess
Btw, did anyone in the USA already see the "Cadillac Records" movie??? Any review is welcoming! ^_^

Beyoncé is said to be in talks to sing a duet with X Factor finalist Alexandra Burke.
Show supremo Simon Cowell is reportedly looking to strike a deal with the singer which would see her perform in the final of the talent contest.
Burke, who last week sang Beyoncé's 'Listen', has become the bookmakers' favourite to take the X Factor crown.
She expressed her surprise at the support after performing at a secret gig earlier this week, saying: "It's very, very scary. I got that news yesterday. It actually shocked me as I wasn't expecting that."
