Imo because shes talented, beautiful & popular. She's managed to stay popular and loved by the GP yet respected in the music industry. Respect goes a long away, thats what makes you a legend. JT is there to regardless of what atrl thinks

I think it honestly has to do with talent. Proof of this is because while she is not chasing hits, she is still immensely popular and hugely respected. Even if you don't like her music, and if you're not pressed, you'll admit her position in the pop world and know that she is one of the best performers ever.
She underperformed big time on 2011, and BEYONCÉ didn't sell singles at all it sold 3 million albums WW which is normal. I don't know it feels more like her success comes from the US press than the actual number and facts, also PINK is more successful than her WW. So I wouldn't use the word outlast here.
