I work as a cashier at Kmart and I want a break from the ****** customers and coworkers. How can I persuade my manager to allow me to take a day off?

Are you full time or part time? If so, just apply to take some of your annual leave.

If you're casual, just say you have a wedding to go to.

edit: I mean this if you're planning it in advance. If you're doing it a few hours before your shift because you don't want to work then you're not really worthy of the position sorry. I'm sure plenty of unemployed people would love to have that job. Just suck it up and go.

Tell them you're sick and you don't want to infect your customers....

or you can just say that you're not coming due to personal reasons. if they ask you what it is, just start the fake crying and hang up the phone. lol jk

A family member's wedding is a really good excuse to get out of a Sunday shift then. Just ask to take some of your leave though. If you have that many hours up your sleeve, you shouldn't even have to provide them with a reason, unless they can't find cover for you, and you have to be like "no I really can't work."

Just tell you can't work a few days. Your manager doesn't need to know the reason, if you just tell him in time. About 2-3 weeks before.
