MANILA - A year after their misunderstanding started, singer Charice Pempengco and her mother Raquel finally settled their differences.
Charice shared an Instagram photo showing her mother, brother Carl and girlfriend Alyssa Quijano standing together and said, "Monthsary celebration with family."
Charice's rift with her mother started more than a year ago when she came out as a lesbian on national TV.
Raquel expressed her disappointment with her daughter's relationship with fellow singer Quijano and admitted that she is a lesbian, but "changed" after her own mother set her off to be married.
But Charice has always tried to reach out to her mother. Last July, the singer even had her mother's name tattooed on her right wrist.
Now that everything has been ironed out, Charice asked everyone to let them be.
"Also for the people who doubted and thought we wouldn't be okay. Screw you all. Now please shut up, move on and let us live our lives as one happy family," the international singer added.
