Mess what kind of comment is this

She is getting praise because she use to lip sync. And she deserves the praise, as shes changed with the game. She knows that now it's different, and she isn't afraid to evolve with the times. Some artists haven't learnt that. This is a new chapter for her, and her fans, and it's really exciting, because it's new and it's fresh. Nobody is saying she is some goddamn Whitney Houston of the music industry vocally. She's a pop star, her singing probably isn't even on Katy Perry's level and we know how much she gets dragged for her vocals, she'd probably have the same vocal ability as Britney Spears, and that's fine, Britney is one of the biggest pop stars of our time, she doesn't even sing live, so I give Hilary so much props for actually attempting to, music is just one of many things that she does, just learn to embrace her and her music for what it is, she isn't trying to be a vocal legend, she just loves music, and loves performing, and that's what shes doing. Why on earth should she not do something she loves to do, shes got the fans, and they support her and that's all that matters. I love her and she is doing her and slaying at it, keep killing it Hilary!

This is all on POINT except I would say she's better vocally than Katy Perry, just personal opinion though.

You can definitely hear the potential in her voice. It was good but no doubt in my mind that it can be better. Keep slaying, Hilary. Keep practicing outside of the US so when you get back home to promote you wow everyone.

I only say Katy Perry is a better vocalist, because Katy has rightfully had some almost enchanting acoustic performances, especially very early on in her career. When it comes to singing pop music, I mean shes not great live, I just seen a video of her performing This Is How We Do on tour recently, and it was kind of a mess, but she uses a lot less backing track then Hilary, so I just feel Katy is a little better, but as you said it's everyone's personal opinion really.

She was pitchy on the chorus and nasally as well.

Well I could hear a bit of vocal texture at times but she's still not even close to fitting in with the current pop girls.
Katy may give a average vocal performance during her big production numbers, but she is always on point with her acoustics. Acoustic is like the easiest way to give a vocal tea. Even Selena sounded great when she did "who says" acoustic.

But like I said, she had some pretty vibrato moments hidden in that mess of a performance and that's impressive considering how flat and basic her voice used to sound. Give her time and she might pull thru.

She can definitely improve. First acoustic performance after taking a looooooong break, it's either she's not used to it yet or she was super nervous. Her voice too isn't a powerful one and it's also not an ear-bleeding one. She can sing good but she needs more practice and time that's all.

I don't think you are understanding the priase, just the fact that she did this completely live stripped down her raw vocals is in amazing in itself. This is really our first acoustic performance of her ever, it's kind of a big deal.
