The impending marriage of two best mates has angered gay rights groups in New Zealand who are labelling the union an "insult".
Heterosexual friends Travis McIntosh, 23, and Matt McCormick, 24, are set to get married today after winning a competition run by New Zealand radio station The Edge.
The bearded pair, who have known each other since they were six, were chosen from more than 200 "bromance" couples to tie the knot in exchange for an all-expenses paid trip to the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
They will be wed in front of 60 family and friends at Eden Park in Auckland in a legally-binding ceremony by a civil celebrant, all streamed live over the radio today.
The same-sex union is possible thanks to the legalisation of gay marriage in New Zealand in August last year.
Straight people get married for dumb reasons. Gay people get married for dumb reasons. Oh well.
I was thinking this, but then I guess the point is that straight people have never had to even think about their right to marry--it's just something they take for granted. So using something that people have been fighting for as a competition gag is pretty gross.
I can see why gays would be upset, but tbh if a couple straights wanna get gay married, more power to them I guess? Denying them that right is kind of the same thing as straights denying gays the right to get "married" too, isn't it? It makes no sense to me but maybe they just like the attention They'll probably get divorced after the game anyway.

I hope you're kidding.
They got married for a competition to win tickets to a football game. Marriage as a whole has become a joke with reality tv shows, tacky competitions etc...
