Reminds me that I had a beeper that my mother would beep me at to come home when I was out too late as a kid (before she gave me a cell phone in 4th grade because she was tired of my excuse that "the battery would die")

It will never catch on, people enjoy talking too much to just stop. It would be so impersonal.
