I could go on and on about how 'If Blackout was promoted more' or 'if her image was better' the album would have succeeded, but I think that the latest sales figure for Circus pretty much proves my point. Blackout wasn't promoted, it didn't sell well, Circus is promoted, it's selling big numbers, in fact, it outsold Blackouts 1st week sales in 3 days.

Actually, Circus outsold Back to Basics 1st week sales in 3 days, and has outsold Christina's 3 week old Greatest Hits album's WW total sales already, and it hasn't even been a week yet! OUCH!!!

I suggest you read Ali's post. You Christina fans take the "she's not promoting" excuse'to explain your legend's low numbers with her Greatest Hits, well, real unprompted album is Blackout, not Christina's Greatest Hits one. failure.

Plus, man.. Britney sold more than 32 million albums in the U.S.A alone, how many did Christina sale? Yeah, that's what I thought.

A simple GMA performance was enough to make a not-yet officially released 2nd single shoot up to #1 at iTunes in a few hours. That's how promotion works when you're as big as Britney Spears. I understand why it may not make much difference for Aggie though.

You know, with the economic crisis and the sales market in a worse state than ever, along with Christina's ever dwindling fan base and the fact that she is coming back from 2 flop albums and back to back flop singles, it's going to be funny to watch the sales of her new album when it comes out.

For a greatest hit's album, usually no promotion is needed. It's not like with a new studio album.

Usually legends don't have to promote their GH album.


I remember Christina fans taking the piss out of Britney's GH album sales, and saying that they hope Christina's GH doesn't sell the way Britney's did.

The Eagles' Target Exclusive sold over 750K on its first week. You pretty much have no excuses. As I stated before, you can't win here - Christina is far from being successful in the past 3 years.
