what kind of riddle

i don't know for sure, but it seems like no one's that interested and people don't spend that much time around me. not only that, but it feels like i either annoy or bore people whenever i talk to them. overall nobody seems to show that much connection to me. and those are the people that actually talk to me a few times, not even thinking of the ones that just totally dislike me or don't talk to me more than once

How old are you?

i mean, i usually assume someone doesn't like me when they don't respond with things other than "yeah" and stuff like that when i try to talk to them and don't pursue conversation with me if i stop talking to them. and actually that's a big part, it feels like people aren't interested because they don't make an effort to talk to me more. and i can tell when people don't laugh at all at the jokes i tell or show any real reaction to what i say, or they end the conversation really quickly after it starts. it's just things like that that give off the feeling that they don't like me or at the very least that no one's especially interested in me, and if someone's not even that interested in you how far can you take a friendship with them even if they don't totally dislike you?

Accelgors, it seems like you're just currently stuck in a crappy environment atm, around people who perhaps aren't entirely on your wavelength. Like, I don't have any reason to believe that you're an unlikeable person, from what I've seen on this site. Don't go thinking that you're unlikeable person your whole life

mrmm I see the problem. I used to have the mentality that "if someone wants to talk to me, they will" and that isn't true. Friendship is a two way street. You can't just expect the other person to put in all the effort. If you stop talking to them, then they'll probably assume that you did that because YOU don't want to talk to them, and they don't want to bother you. Also the way that you look plays a big part in it, if you look unapproachable then people won't approach you. Do you appear friendly? Do you smile or do you sit there with a blank expression on your face? What kind of things are you talking about? You need to talk about something that is interesting to the other person, and that an actual full fledged conversation can come out of. If you're talking about something simple like the weather than that convo probably won't last for longer then 5 minutes. A person can only give you so much, they can't make something out of nothing which could explain the short responses. If you're talking about something that you like, but they don't like, that will cause a lack of connection as well.

and that's true that i probably do look difficult to approach. i space out a lot so i probably look either totally distracted or sad. all of that stuff is good to consider. it's just really hard to make friends, honestly, and it gets pretty discouraging sometimes, especially since it seems like other people make them a lot more easily than me. i won't stop trying just yet
