Well I wasn't saying that she would be #1 (that would be sort of delusional), but she would be higher than she is on the list...especially if she had toured (her past 3 worldwide tours have been massively successful). Shakira is 23 years into her career (first album released in 1991), didn't even tour & still managed to land in the top 10 this year (and was the only other person on the list, beside Rihanna, from a non-anglo country). The circumstances of this favor others on the list (only counting from March forward, etc.) more than others.
Beyoncé for example has had much more success this year than Lady Gaga but isn't even on the list. Not all artists use Twitter, not all of them toured, not all of them released new videos, etc.) That's the point I was trying to make.

I don't see how she's the most powerful popstar when she hasn't done anything this year, besides maybe touring and releasing G.U.Y/jazz single. The way they "calculated" this was extremely wierd
