Lets be real. She lost the power in her belting voice after her breakdown. I've always loved her music, even if her personality at times is annoying. But she is getting older, her #1's every album would have weared off sooner of later. Her marriage messed up this era.
I think some people here are already counting her out... Mariah its an amaizing talent... knowing Mariah i think shell be back stronger next time.. maybe this its good for her, i think E=MC2 its a better album than some of the others females albums out there but i think the label and mariah make the wrong decissions... i say its good , beacause i think its time for her to reinvent herself in all ways and i hopingshe get the message. One of the thinks that made the amaizing EOM so sucessfull was beacause she reinvent her attitude.. now its time to reinvent from her image to her music... Mariah its one of the most important music acts of the last 20 years not for nothing shes still around having a #1 hits and albums
Her next album will be celebrating her 20 year in music and i really want to see Mariah to the second power..
Yeah, it was an absolutely dumb choice to not release "Migrate" 2nd. I really think it would've gone to #1, I personally don't love it, but the majority would.
I feel like they were trying to replicate TEOM by releasing an up-temp, ballad, up-temp, ballad.
I think that she will absolutely make a COMEBACK, but she will not "come back" per se. I feel like nobody knew about the subsequent singles from this project--it's not that they don't care about her, it's that she got very little exposure for the songs after "Bye Bye." She will be coming back commercially in her next album, I guarantee it. Mariah going back to her '90s roots is another matter entirely.
She is not the best modern singer. Her voice is not that great anymore. You have to be able to sing and dance. The only people who come to mind are Beyonce and Keyshia Cole.

Even though I only like some of her songs and I was never really into her, I got alot of respect for her.
As for E=MC^2 singles, I didn't like TMB so much, it was okay, nothing more.
Bye Bye was better, it was a nice track and I didn't care for I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time.
But now I really love I Stay In Love .
Hopefully her next album will be better, who knows, maybe this time I might end up buying it.
Mariah's commercial career has reached it's peak in every way possible. She's not creative enough to grow musically either. I'd say she's done in those respects.
She DID have the #1 song AND the #1 album, which sold more than TEOM on its first week, right? So why is she a flop artist now? I don't understand. Yes, Bye Bye was the worst song decision to release as a single, but oh well you live and you learn.
Mariah doesn't really need to keep proving herself to people. I mean she did get another #1 single and another #1 album, and the album did go platinum. In the end, she's done almost everything that an artist can do in a career if you think about it. Everything she does from this point on is kind of a "I can still do this" kind of attitude.
I gave it a try for a bit, but I do not have a single song from E=MC2 on my ipod. I bought into Touch My Body, but now looking back, it's trash . Leona Lewis' album was better
The most probable reason for her changing up her style is so that she can stay in the game longer. She can still sing ballads and do well (We Belong Together, Don't Forget About Us), but she is trying to evolve her music towards the new direction that music has taken, so that she can get new fans, while trying to maintain her older fans (Side Effects, Migrate ... Bye Bye, I Stay In Love).
I would say her ballads were for her older fans, while the "Migrate"/"Side Effects" more for new fans.
