why do people get offended by this word when back in 2009 the whole world were lambasting gaga with that term and no one batted an eye lash

1.It IS offensive

2.People still use that term for Gaga

3.People use that word to insult Gaga

4.Not everyone approved of using that word against Gaga

Since english is not my first language I thought at the beginning it was just short for "transexual".
But apparently it has been used in the past in a derogatory way.So that's why it's considered offensive.
Just say trans instead of tranny.

Its offensive when they use it towards Gaga too. Thats why people use it. To offend her and terrorize her stans.

i prefer saying tranny because it has a better inflection. im not transphobic though (although they scare me)

Tranny isn't offensive unless it is used with a negative connotation. I'll be saying tranny WITH A NEUTRAL attitude to describe a human being that likes to be recognized as a different gender than on their birth certificate till the day I die.

tranny is a derogatory term so yes, its offensive lol. And being used in an insulting way as in implying its a bad thing to be transgender is as offensive as using gay as an insult, it belittles a community

It's the equivalent to calling a gay person a "homo". Just because it's derivative of the technical term doesn't mean it's not offensive.
