"We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator," the NFL said in a statement today. "The video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today."

Within hours of the video's appearance on TMZ.com, Rice's team, the Baltimore Ravens, tweeted, "The Baltimore Ravens terminated the contract of RB Ray Rice this afternoon."

I don't get why those companies do this.. I think you should seperate his private life from his business life. I mean he ain't no pastor or something who set a bad example. His personal life has nothing to do with his business life.

Same with Teyana taylor who was fired by Adidas because of just posting a picture of Rihanna's beaten face. I mean there's really no connection.

I don't know this dude at all but I don't think it's fair to punish him this way.

It's all about image in any industry. When your personal life overshadows everything else, that's too much. And as an NFL player, he definitely is a role model. The NFL did the right thing by setting an example out of him. Hitting women is not okay ever.

I'm not excusing what he did, but the nfl should have terminated him months ago. They are trying to protect their image as opposed to teach a lesson about DV.

At this point, Ray Rice is going to be known as the football player that punched his wife instead of just a football player. The NFL doesn't want that stigma attached to their name.

Exactly. And u can NOT tell me that this is the FIRST time they are seeing this video. They not terminating him because. they saw the video, they terminating him because the GENERAL PUBLIC is finally seeing it.

Not to mention, the video CONVENIENTLY comes out after the Season Opener?
