A tribute to GRLs Simone Battle
The girl band singer tragically passed away last week, and one of her last ever interviews was with Cosmo.
The world was shocked and saddened to hear that Simone Battle of girl band GRL was found dead in her LA home on Friday morning at just 25 years old. What made the whole thing even more shocking for us, was that she was hanging out at Cosmo HQ just a few weeks ago for what was to be one of her last ever interviews.
The band arrived for their photo shoot at 8am, with their founder Robin Antin (who also formed The Pussycat Dolls and hangs out with Kimmy K on the reg). The click-clack of Jeffrey Campbell platforms echo in the foyer as the pop group and their entourage made their way to the studio, with the super lovely, enthusiastic and fun Simone playing around just like everyone else.
The five members, each already with takeaway coffee in hand, ordered oatmeal and bagels for breakfast before taking off their sunglasses and jumping into hair and makeup. Simone even took the opportunity to teach the entire crew how to master the art of doing hair flicks. She appeared to be all round happy.
One dress up party with Robin (who the girls were all clearly extremely fond of) and around 70 selfies later, we chatted with Simone and the rest of the girls about their whirlwind success and how they were finding their trip to Australia. Little did we know that three weeks later the band, and the rest of us, would be in mourning.
Welcome to Australia, guys! How are you all finding it here?
