Britney, by far! Rihanna's singles are only good, but her album tracks have been anything top notch except 3/7 of her albums.

Not a Gaga stan talking about shortlived phenomenons. Britney was at least still a visible pop star for 7 years after her phenomenon ended unlike actual fads like Gaga and The Spice Girls.

I don't think she is comparable to Madonna, but neither is Rihanna. They still haven't come remotely close to her artistically, and never will.

After the release of Britney Jean I have to say Rihanna...

Rihanna is not an heir to Madonna, she's above those tacky titles. Rihanna has one bad album, Britney has one good album.

A lot of this applies to Britney as well darling. BUT! Rihanna is not a great performer, that's been a VERY strong point of Madonna's and Britney's throughout their careers. Rihanna does not push boundaries, another strong point of Madonna's and Britney's. After a while every artist takes control of their image. What has Rihanna paved the way for her successors to do that hasn't been done by Britney? Britney has made fashion statements as well. Rihanna is highly overrated when it comes to fashion.
