I actually hear BOTH of these songs quite a lot

I live on a tiny island in Europe with a tiny population, I'd say both are pretty well remembered

I listened to the radio ALL day ALL night. I loved We Belong Together and Hung Up when they came out. I can count on one hand the amount of times I heard Hung Up on the radio. We Belong Together...actually Mariah Carey in general was EVERYWHERE.

In the US Hung Up is simply not remembered because it didn't have mass exposure back then. So WBT is definitely bigger in the US today. It gets radio play STILL.

In Europe, WBT and HU are on a par. WBT was the comeback of Mariah Carey. The last song Europeans remember of Mariah Carey in the New Millenuim was "I Know What You Want" which was a Busta Rhymes song in 2003. So WBT was the return and having Wenthworth Miller in the video when Prison Break was a huge hit made the video and the song even more iconic.

But in the end, WBT remains more remembered than HU WW just look at the facts in the OP
