Your absolutely right, but I will continue to hate on them more than others because of the very reason you stated.

^^ oh my gosh. Paramore!!! :-) its crazy I actually saw them in concert before they even had ANY success, i was there to see Rocket Summer and I remember saying the short redheaded singer of that group has AMAZING live vocals, and look now. Grammy nominated! :-)

Alternative rock is not about being whiny and bland (although there are some bands which are).

The part about how they are getting much attention is right though. I have no idea how they got the attention they do now, but then again, I say that about a lot of popular artists.

Same here. I saw them before they were popular too (and met them). I saw them on the third stage of the warped tour once. Practically no one watches the third stage so it was really cool up close. Can't do that anymore though. Way too popular now.

I think their image is one of the reasons a lot of people hate on them. But yeah like I said before, their songs are terrible IMO.
