WOW at Coldplay selling so much even without a tangible hit.
And I didn't realize Katy had fallen out of the Top 40 already. This just confirms that she was never and will never be an album seller.

Does Mediatraffic leak PRISM's number even it out off top 40? I reckon it's at 17-18K this week.

3.2 Million for PRISM. First time leaving the top 40 after 44 weeks. Don't know why some are acting like this is a bad thing.

You can't blame them though, I mean Rihanna's recent albums were called flops and under performances after barely spending one year on the WW Chart and with 2 huge hits just like Prism. Prism had probably two of Katy's biggest hits and she's being referred to as the most global pop girl right now considering her singles' success so how she is not able to top 4m albums WW after more than 10 months from release. And despite Miley's star power as celebrity, she is kinda of a flop outside the US and Gaga is having a flop era right now, Katy is allegedly having a smash era.

As of last week PRISM was the only 2013 female pop album still in the top 40. Beyoncé had been out of the top 40 for a while even though her album came out 2 months after PRISM. Compared to all other 2013 pop girl albums Katy is doing well.

You are comparing her to pop girls that have flopped or to Beyonce' effort which still has outsold katy's album with more than 300k. Looking at Katy's weekly sales right now, she might need like three months before catching up to Beyonce.
So how this is not an underperformance?

Hmm, I use MusiCharts, so their totals may be different.
Red
2012 Year-End Sales: 4,270,600 (#3)
2013 Year-End Sales: 1,461,800 (#19)
Total: 5,732,400 (as of December 2013; so Red is probably just below the 6 million mark, or just barely above it. Like you said, the release of 1989 should help push it past that mark)
TTAL
2012 Year-End Sales: 2,626,800 (#8)
2013 Year-End Sales: 3,246,200 (#5)
and then the following sales weeks from earlier this year:
20,900 (#42)
15,300 (#47)
14,200 (#49)
14,500 (#47)
19,500 (#34)
Total: 5,957,400 (as of February 2014; considering she's a good re-current seller, she probably passed the 6 million mark in like March/April.)
Up All Night
2011 sales weeks:
162,600 (#9)
114,100 (#10)
100,800 (#16)
107,500 (#15)
112,400 (#12)
53,800 (#23)
2012 Year-End Sales: 4,277,300 (#2)
2013 Year-End Sales: 840,200 (#45)
Total: 5,768,700 (as of December 2013; it's probably at 5.8-5.9 million by now. their 4th album should push it past the 6 million threshold)

300k is not a big difference.
So you're telling me that unless she sells the absolute MOST, you're going to consider it an underperformance? Well looks like someone is begging not to be taken seriously. Let me point you to the receipts of some other pop girls.

You're so right! That's why PRISM outsold them both by an overwhelming margin!
