Does Obama feel more like a celebrity than a president?
I think many people feel like Obama has become too much of a celebrity and isn't viewed as a president should be. How do you feel about this? Is it bad for him? Is it good because of publicity? Should he stop being in the celebrity world and stick to what he is supposed to be?
Not really, his power as the president still feels like any other we've had before. Michelle Obama would fit that description more as she always appears on campaigns, does cameos on Disney TV shows/commercials and all that, but I actually think that helps her expand her brand.
No that's an old talking point the Republicans tried to smear Obama with in the 2008 presidential campaign (nvm the fact that their beloved Ronold Regan was the biggest celebrity of them all lol)

Now look at their party, so far too the right even Reagan would be too liberal Not to mention all the infighting especially between the young GOP and the old politicians
well popularity in the internet/social interaction sites have become really big during his presidency...especially Twitter ad what not
he just doesn't do what is the norm for presidents...like him name dropping rappers, hanging out with Beyonce and the likes...it has just been unheard of by a President (except JFK and Marilyn )

The young GOP is practically begging the older members to accept gay marriage and stop obsessing over only a few controversial issues (Pope said something similar to the Vatican), inclusive not exclusive.

People honestly think that the President lives and breathes politics, but he is a person and he has interests just like anyone else.
People ask him these questions and he answers them. It's not like he is actively going out of his way to talk about pop culture.
He can have his opinion, just like anyone else can.
maybe, but for a president it's really important to be popular and relateable to the average person. he needs support, so it doesn't matter which answer is right. either way, he's still doing something that matters.
besides that, he is a human, so sometimes parts of him that aren't scripted and manufactured will come out. it's normal for that to happen sometimes.
