Exactly. And unless you're broke and shopping in the discount end of Walmart, I don't see what is so expensive about a $40 charging pad.
Wires are gone and you can use the pad to charge any device with wireless charging ability rather than needing a cable for every device.
Plus Samsung has already implemented rapid charging into the S5 and Note 4, and others will use this technology, so slow charging isn't really an issue.
Before that, Steve Jobs was busy mocking phones bigger than 3.5"
always taking the easy way out, that Samsung.
