Sorry Gwen, but talent show or not, Kelly absolutely deserved her wins, especially during that era. I adore ND, but Gwen's solo efforts were never my cup o' tea. The 2nd album particularly is just a mess.
Gwen definitely is/was a little bitter over her award show losses back then. I remember reading somewhere (I forgot where) that her not winning any of her 2006 Grammy nominations really demotivated her when she was recording The Sweet Escape.
Man music used to be dope and award shows were fun to watch...I'm not a big Kelly fan but she was everywhere back then and she deserved her wins but Gwen also deserved some awards her 1st album was amazing.

At that point they weren't. Only Best New Artist and Viewer's Choice were, everything else was a blue ribbon panel so there was a hint of cred for the winners.
Wait, Gwen was one of Kelly's competitor?
Because as far as i remember, We Belong Together was the most praised back then.
If anything, Mariah should've been mad.
