If you have seen any of his other movies and know his style, you would understand why
Melancholia is his least frustrating film. My issue with von Trier is that he comes across as very much obsessed with violence against women (
Dogville, Antichrist are other examples) and his films are arguably exploitation under the guise of some arthouse genius-work. He is all about the shock value, whether he wants to admit it or not, and his actions in public and treatment of his actresses are a testament to that. I adore Charlotte and she always delivers stellar performances, but I do wish she'd get away from this guy. He obviously found his muse with her though and luckily for him, she's into it, but I just really do not like this man.
