Discussion: Double standard against men???

After all of these female celebs' nude pics leaked, there has been so much support for the celebs who had their privacy violated and many women have written articles attacking men like Ricky Gervais who said that maybe they shouldn't have had nude pictures of themselves on their cell phones, saying he was ****-shaming and blaming the victim. People who viewed the pics were attacked for violating the celebs' privacy by Lena Dunham and others.

I personally didn't find what he said as either, he raised a valid point about personal security, not ****-shaming.

When Brett Favre's, Chris Brown's, and other male celebrities' pictures leaked, they were called "stupid" for taking the pics and sending them. No one blamed the women who leaked pics of them. No one cared about their privacy. People made fun about their size, shape, etc. and major websites spread the links and whatever. Then you have had public figures like Kandi from the Real Housewives of Atlanta say that she likes to receive "dick pics" because she and her girlfriends like to compare them.

So why does there appear to be double standard???

Women are usually treated as the victims in most cases. Those celebs shouldn't have taken the pictures IMO but since they did, they shouldn't be mad at people who viewed them after they were leaked (I personally didn't and it is weird, but if they had never taken the pictures, they couldn't have leaked.) I've only lost respect for the select few who blamed the people who viewed them after they leaked, it's the person who took the pictures' fault no matter what.

Besides, Lena Dunham? Who cares what she thinks? The only thing funny about her is that she's convinced people don't like her because she's an overweight woman. She's just not funny.

Okay but there's a difference between willingly sending naked pics of yourself out to random groupies and having somebody take the time and effort to hack into your account and search for naked pictures that you took for yourself/your significant other.

Who's to say J. Law and some of the others weren't sending their pics to groupies? And it's still a violation of personal trust and privacy either way.

Of course there's a double standard. But according to this generation its the man's fault he sent dick pics, and its still the man's fault if a woman sends nudes.
