They do prosecute those who attempt to take their own lives but fail
I may be wrong, but we still have some states where this is still part of the law, although the penaty usually involves being forced to seek therapy/treatment.
I am seriously shocked by these figures though. 40 seconds is nothing. So much sadness and despair in the world
