Not you all underestimating the impact of Chyna when it comes to female wrestlers. During her peak (1999-2000) she was one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWF, man or woman. She competed in matches against wrestling legends like Triple H, Mankind, Kane, The Undertaker, The Rock, Chris Jericho, Jeff Jarret, Steve Austin etc... Not taking anything away from Trish Stratus or Lita, but they were mostly confined to the world of female wrestling. Chyna was just on a completely different level.
Let's look at the stats:
First woman to compete in the Royal Rumble
First woman to compete in the King of the Ring Tournamanet
First woman to be the number one contender for the WWF championship
First and only female to win the Intercontinental Championship (twice)
Two Playboy covers and a successful book
Granted the end of her career with the WWF was messy, what with the whole Stephanie/Triple H drama and Vince attempting to relegate her solely into the women's division. Not to mention the complete tragedy she has become since with the alchohol/drug abuse and p**n career. However, I don't think this should take away from all of her accomplishments. She truly was a game changer in the world of wrestling and we haven't seen any female come close to repeating her success since.
All hail the 9th Wonder of the World!
