After the UEFA Champions League draw, UEFA named Cristiano Ronaldo as the Best Player for the 2013-2014 season. The Portuguese player won FIFA's Ballon D'Or beating Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery. This time, fellow teammates Arjen Robben and German goalie Manuel Neuer were runners up to the prize.
Ronaldo established a record for most goals in a single UEFA Champions League season, leading Los Blancos to their 10th title. Domestically, CR7 obtained the Copa del Rey, beating Barcelona with an overtime goal by Gareth Bale.
One of CR7's driving force has to be the rivalry with Lionel Messi.

He was really strong last season but overall Manuel Neuer would've deserved the title. Neuer won three titles, CR7 two and overall Neuer was strong in all competitions - World Cup, CL, cup and in the national league. Real Madrid winning the CL was probably the biggest factor in this and a reason to give him this award. Congrats anyway!

Why the hell would they take the World Cup into consideration?
I was so happy when they said his name. I really thought they were going to give it to Nueur
well, they obviously didn't take the World Cup into account, otherwise Robben or Neuer should have won. but considering that Ronaldo won the CL I guess it's deserved.
