Tech: Samsung unveils first phone with bent display

Its called Galaxy Edge, a special edition of the Note 4 which has just been revealed a few minutes ago

If your hands already experience fatigue with the Note 3 or similarly large phones, the Edge likely isn't a good choice for you -- not only because it's so much wider (though that's a significant factor), but also because the right side of the phone, where the screen meets the back, is actually quite sharp and an uncomfortable place to grip the phone.

I have yet to acknowledge the true purpose or added functional value of this. To me so far its just one of Sammy's gimmicks.

It's obviously a gimmick.
But gimmicks sell smartphones and get people talking.
You can be sure Samsung will have a massive ad/billboard campaign in every major city with the curved display front and center.

Looks awesome. Completely pointless though. And once you've gotten used to it, you'd start looking at flat screens going "oh wow, that's so awesome...it's all on the one surface"

Poor Note 4 though, the guinea pig for bent screens. Galaxy S6's display will depend on the response of the GP to this one.

I hope they managed to fix the crappy fingerprint sensor that the S5 has. It's such a nightmare for me.
QHD sounds intriguing though. 1080p was pretty crazy, so this must be something else
