Madonna used photos that a photographer took. She used them and transformed them into the medium of video. COPYRIGHT laws allowed the man to make some money from it. She never denied anything. She readily and happily admited to using the videos. The whole reason it settled out of court is because she paid him.

That's what this whole thread is about. You understand in Hollywood Madonna is playing Hollywood icons right? You understand that she recreated pics into another medium (video)

And? A lot of photographers who worked with madonna and after that with a certain artist yall madonna fans say that this certain artist copies madonna. But when it comes to madonna you use this excuse

Madonna is the Queen of Homages and she has repurposed every single piece of art that has inspired her.

This, is homage. You don't get to make up your own definition of homage because you don't like Madonna. The world, society, pop culture already has this definition and had you bothered reading any of the comments in here you wouldn't be getting such a ruthless drag from me right now.

You can not pinpoint who created a look. We can only choose stylistic references in people to be inspired from. Looks are not tangaible aside from that, in Madonna's case they have always been credited as inspirations. We you re-create something or when it's beyond obvious: that is homage. This is not up for debate. This is meaning of the word.

Take a look at a simple google image search "the 80's"



I didn't even have to mention Madonna's name. An entire representation of a decade is based on Madonna's iconic looks. How can you even be for real?

And? Photographers are not an excuse. It's factual. A photographer owns the copyright. You can't change the law. Why are you even trying? Your people are trying to say that Madonna copied Diana when 1. she credited her and 2. it was the photographers vision and their intuition was to re-create the photo and NO as per MY OWN comment I don't say that about other artists.

If you run into people that say that, I suggest you use the knowledge you have gained here today thanks to me, and educate them.
