X Factor Ratings Plummet! Show Loses Over Million Viewers!
Quote:
Saturday night’s opening show launched to 9.5 million viewers, up 300,000 on the equivalent episode last year.
But it seems that quite a lot of those viewers didn’t like what they saw as yesterday evening’s second instalment really didn’t fare as well.
It lost some 1.3 million viewers on the night before with 8.2 million tuning in to the shorter show between 8PM and 9PM, which had focused on the Groups and Overs category.
It was down by almost 2 MILLION viewers on last year’s first Sunday show, which had a 9.3 million average and 700,000 viewership on +1.
I'm not surprised, people are just losing interest in singing shows in general plus the talent so far has been pretty average. I think the ratings will increase and stay stable as it goes on.
Who can blame those million viewers who tuned out. It's not even a matter of who's on the panel anymore - the show has lost its spark. The talent has been completely dire or average at best.
It doesn't really matter. Shows lose and gain viewers all the time.
Last year the show went from having 8.69M viewers, to 9.21 in the following episode, before falling to 7.94 the next week, and them it recovered again at 8.89.
Oh, Strictly Come Dancing is also coming back next weekend. I wonder if it will effect X Factor.
If they overlap, Strictly usually wins. They've dumped Bruce and have cast Pixie Lott and Frankie/Saturdays, they're looking for that younger demographic which would impact XF if successful, tbh.
