This is way too low in airplay. The people love the song.

Why is radio refusing to play this smash hit, when everybody loves it? Aren't radio supposed to play what people are buying/streaming?

Honestly, radio fatigue. People are moving on from most of the big popstars and clamoring over Ariana, Iggy, Sam Smith, etc. The main pop girls have to come back with some strong music if they want to regain their dominance.

The PD and MD at KIIS and the MD at Z100 are married to people of the opposite sex and have children. The PD at Z100 is a woman.

She'd be on lock for Top 10 if those nine pesky stations would just add the song, but I have a feeling some might not. Who knows. It can still go top 10 for sure without them if it doesn't take a drastic downfall in the near future, but it won't surpass "Birthday" on Billboard without them because this isn't doing well on her other formats at all (Rhythmic and Hot AC, but especially Rhythmic). It'd just be nice for the next single for everyone to jump on board at the same time, especially since it'll have an easier climb. It would suck if Z100 jumped on this in like three weeks and the rest of the world and the stations that started playing this in early August would be a month away from adding what's next. Six is coming in November. Singles rarely come in December because it's incredibly difficult to survive the year-end with Christmas. Stations basically stop adding songs ("Dark Horse" was a freak of nature--the last song to pull those kinds of adds during December was "Toxic.")
