Simple. Fast food industry and processed food industry are throwing money on promoting other body types, since skinny is the anti-theme of their disgusting food. But oh well, the obesity rates in U.S are always the highest and their companies are having countless amount of money thanks to providing people with their processed food. Again, skinny people are the aesthetics of fashion industry. A rarefied field but with a glorified acclaim. So, in the end it's not a loss.
Because non-skinny people were made out to be worthless by the media for so long. I think it's right that non-skinny people should be embraced in the media, but I don't think it's right that skinny people should be villainised. Nobody should be criticized or judged because of their body, whether skinny or non-skinny!
I've always been skinny.
I eat a lot but I just don't gain weight...
I've always had people coming for me saying I have ED etc.
but I just don't really care, I feel fine and healthy
It's all about Metabolism,
Some people have brown, blond, red hair... some people are black, white... some are tall, some are small...
Some are fat and some are skinny.
Honeslty, I don't think skinny girls care if you skinny shame them. At the very most they'll say "how dare you say that real women have curves...I'm naturally thin and I am still a real woman!"
But for the most part, girls who diet and exercise to have thin and/or toned physiques aren't just going to throw that all away because singers like Meghan Trainor and writers/directors like Lena Dunham are promoting body acceptance to girls who happen to be bigger
You can't skinny-shame someone who likes the fact that they're thin/lean.
Skinny-shaming is a myth. In the same category as sexism towards men, "heterophobia," racism against white people. Of course, it's not cute to be mean and hurtful and prejudiced, but the road doesn't go both ways. There hasn't been any kind of justice. Just Shake It Off and get over it. Be glad that you're in this category and not the others.
