IF they cross a certain line?

With the recent events relating to Comedian Joan Rivers there has been a lot of debate among people about whether or not comedians should be held accountable for their jokes that can be borderline racist, insensitive, etc..

So do you think the Comedians should be held accountable for crossing a certain line? Or all is fair in lil humor?

There's a fine line between a funny joke and offensive joke but people know when they've crossed it...

I think it takes a lot more thinking power to come up with jokes that aren't based on insulting celebrities. Making fun of people is essentially bullying, and insult comedians are bullies that are given a pass.

Jokes can be funny without being at the expense of someone else, someone's race, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, etc (and even if it does walk that line, then it shouldn't have to be something so incessant).

My problem with comedians (in particular with Joan) is that they say something thoughtless about an issue (for instance the Gaza issue) and people think she is joking, when in actuality, is how she really feels. It's as if people think if it is offensive, it must be a joke because no one can be that cruel, but a lot of people can actually be that offensive and cruel.

They have the right to say what they want and we have the right to criticize them for it. It works both ways.

No, some people are just too sensitive. Those people need to find comedians who match their sense of humor. I find humor that 'crosses the line' to be the most exciting and I am aware that it is only a joke. What's terrifying are the people who are not joking...
