Yes she did. And Katy even said that Gaga keeps her on her toes as a performer and this was in 2014 as well

Prism and Born This Way are have somewhat similar when it comes to commercial successes.

Katy had higher highs in the singles department while Gaga had more hits. Gaga sold more albums but Prism had more longevity. Both followed huge eras. Katy's 2 videos got to 500 million views, that's something Gaga didn't have.

Both albums couldn't be anymore different though.

Fun fact: The Edge of Glory and Dark Horse sold about the same outside of the US.

Glad we agree I was telling the truth. And that's great for Katy, am glad she got two #1s! I knew they would do well, the public responds well to that brand of pop music.

This truth. Katy has no excuse to underperform this era. She's as safe and radio friendly as she was during TD, and yet she's getting outshined by people like Ariana Grande and Megan Trainor. There's no other explanation other than people are just indifferent.

No because Dark Horse was like a thousand times bigger than The Edge of Glory, and Unconditionally despite peaking four spots lower was bigger than the frontloaded Judas. Speaking of frontloaded, BTW the single was very frontloaded as well, it struggled to make the top 20 year-end (released during/before the summer) while Roar was released at the start of the fall and made the top 10 of the year-end chart! Plus Birthday did better than MTN! And there is the potential for LL and WAO to slay!

So no. PRISM is like a biggest BTW in a sense, maybe. BTW sold lots of albums though, especially considering the Amazon thing it still sold well (but I believe it was mostly because of the hype).
