My dad's to me was "I don't think you've had enough experiences in life to know that you're gay" Like ***** I've had plenty of experiences but I'm certainly not going to go into the details with you.
This seemed to be more common a decade ago and earlier. People didn't seem to understand that sexuality, indeed, was NOT a phase but people just learned to hide it well once they started to get discriminated. I'd be horribly offended if someone told me I was confused though.
I mean. Like, maybe don't say it to their face but I wouldn't blame a parent for having that reaction when their kid is 13-16.
But still, WTF?
Who are you to assume your child doesn't know their own mind and body? I knew I was a flaming homo when I was 12. Like I could tell you the moment I was sure - and it's still true. When someone comes out and says "I am ____," you take it at face value. You allow them to define themselves rather than passing your own judgment upon them based on arbitrary factors like age.
"Why don't you try dating ___? S/he's a nice young ___, you'll never know until you tried it."
I think we damn well know what we are attracted to.
Ah yeah this too. "How do you know you don't like girls/guys if you haven't tried?"...like did they try it with the same sex in order to be sure they're straight

How can you ask someone if they are confused? There is something definite and alive down there that PROVES you are very sure. People are so stupid sometimes.
