Great thread Dark_Lorde! Madonna's voice in indeed underrated...

I've always loved this quote from her frequent co-writer and co-producer Patrick Leonard:

"I've heard talk about how Madonna can't sing, and I can tell you that's bull.
She's a natural intuitive singer with great intonation, and she puts across a
vulnerable quality that you can't copy, and I know because Iv'e heard people try."

Her voice was at its best before Evita imo.

Since Hard Candy, her voice has mostly been unpleasant. Technically, she may have been at her best during the Evita/Ray Of Light era but the problem is that it made her lost all the spice, charm and melancholy her voice used to have in the 80s and early 90s ("Pretender", "Each Time You Break My Heart", "Spanish Eyes", "Secret", "Waiting" etc)...
