Discussion: Why is R8 taking so long?

Rihanna used to release a new album every 12 months, it's been almost 2 years since her latest effort and we have yet to hear about her new project.

Why is that? Is she still on track for a 2014 release, did her team fail to secure a hit single?

I wouldn't be alarmed that it's August and we haven't heard anything about a lead single. We usually don't hear about her lead singles until September anyway. At this point I'd say single in very early October, album in late November.

All the promo tours/appearance to promote an annual album must have taken a toll on her. You all remember that one interview with Ellen, she was so OUT of it.

She'll probably surprise release in October.

She already choose her lead single her team tweeted it, it's coming in September most likely. Her past lead singles have been released in September

Album is done. Single is coming in two week's time. She's enjoying herself before the Pop culture takeover. She won't get a break till after her world tour in November 2015

Queen Rih has secretly retired. Aubrey is on his way to Italy RIGHT NOW so they can elope. After years of on-and-off ****ery, King and Queen are finally making it official. Queen and King will dissapear for a year, probably to Barbados, to enjoy married life and each other's company without intense media speculation. In October 2015, it will be announced that Rih has JUST given birth to a beautiful baby boy. The baby, named Michael Ontario after their respective homelands, will be adorable.

R8 will finally be leaked by a lowly Roc Nation employee in 2020

After giving birth to her son, Rih will focus her energy on philanthropic efforts. Aubrey will write novels. They will retire from "fame" and the "industry" they so despise. We will see them occasionally at the Grammy's for the important tributes and lifetime achievement awards, but that's it. No more music, no more photoshoots, no more pop superstardom
